Teenager Arrested In Fatal Mercer County Shooting: Prosecutor

A Burlington County teenager has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Mercer County, authorities said.

Joshua Davis, 18, of Fieldsboro, is charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.

Davis was taken into custody without incident Wednesday, May 17, in Mount Laurel, Onofri said.

Hamilton police officers responded to a shooting in progress in the 4900 block of S. Broad Street shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17. 

Police found a male victim in the driveway of a home near Pilgrim Way suffering from a gunshot wound. 

The victim, identified as Matthew Morales, 28, of Blackwood, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigation revealed that Morales was shot during an altercation with Davis on S. Broad Street, Onofri said.

The investigation is ongoing.
